The Tenderloin is a small, dense neighborhood just west of Union Square. It has the city's highest concentration of historic SRO hotels and nonprofits and is the focus of much of San Francisco's public-health and street-condition policy debate.
Over the 90 days ending June 2026, the SFPD recorded 3,432 crime incidents in Tenderloin, roughly flat versus the previous 90 days. The most common were drug and warrant.
